Safe Connections Act Notice
Safe Connections Act Notice
Southern Linc stands together with survivors of domestic violence and has created a process to help them keep their existing phone number and create their own accounts. If you are a survivor of domestic violence and need help, please contact our Customer Solutions Center at 1(800) 818-LINC (5462) or 611 from your Southern Linc device.
What to expect?
Once you contact the Customer Solutions Center, you'll be connected with a designated representative that will walk you through the process and what documentation is needed to help move your account.
- Safe Connections Transfer Form: this form will be needed to help ensure we've got all your information and that you want to complete the process.
- Documentation: We'll need some documentation to complete the process showing you meet the Federal Communications Commission's ("FCC") eligibility requirements:
- Signed affidavit from a licensed medical or mental healthcare provider, victim services provider, or court employee
- Police report or statements
- Charging documents
- Court orders
- Protective or restraining orders
- Any other official record documenting the domestic violence
Just so you know, all documentation provided to Southern Linc's team confirming your eligibility will be deleted in accordance with the FCC's rules.
Financial Assistance is available through the FCC's lifeline program for survivors who need help paying their bill on their new account. Under the Safe Connections Act, survivors are eligible for six months of emergency support through the Lifeline program for qualified applicants. Visit Southern Linc's lifeline program website, Call Manager & Emergency Broadband | Service Plans | Southern Linc, for more information and eligibility requirements.
